I casually pointed over to the mass of tanned and well-toned bodies in the pool,
slugging it out in the inter-year water-polo match, and asked the girls sitting around me a deceptively simple question.
"So, which part of a guy's body is the most important to you?"
The girls chittered among themselves for a while, then
one voice replied for all.
"Definitely the chest or shoulders. The bigger the better."
"What?!? Not the abs? I thought every girl wanted a washboard ab on her man?"
"Na. Whoever told you that?"
I immediately let go of the breath I had been holding since the start of camp, and my belly sagged back into place.
Suddenly obsessed with a sociological quest of epic proportions, I went on to query the rest of my group mates. At the end of the day, I found out quite a few interesting things about the way guys and girls perceive each other. If you are someone who has always been harboured Narcissistic tendancies, pay heed.
Myth One: Oh no! I just gained 2 kg! I am soooo hideously fat!!!
The Truth: You are either Very Thin, Very Fat or Normal. If you in
neither extreme to begin with, and you gain or lose a couple of kgs,
NO ONE NOTICES, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE.
Myth Two: It is a must for guys to have hot bods or be cute, to be a
hit with the girls.
The Truth: Hot bods or cutie faces might have some weight, but
charm always rules the day.
Myth Three: Guys are mindless beasts, attracted only to females with
svelte figures.
The Truth: We are human beings, not beasts.
No, seriously, the world is a lot less shallow than you think it is. People ogle movie stars the entire day, wishing they too could insure their bodies for millions of dollars, but still return to loving their normal, down-to-earth partners all the same.
You should too, if you haven't.

Woo Chiao rocks. Tell me again what he said about super-boredom..
I actually meant to make this a phlog but it turns out that all my camera pics are of pretty bad quality and I can't seem to improve them very much with Photoshop. Humbug!

anyway lots of our class girls seem to be taking ballroom dancing for PE elective=) plus iggy and maybe hongyue? its gonna be great fun! haha i always thought the dance module was the most fun of all the home econs modules in RG. i don't feel like taking up one of those games because stuffs like tennis, badminton, softball etc we already know the basics so no point learning again...and i'm a cheapskate so i'm not gonna take anything that requires cash, like bodyjam or all the stuffs that need external instructors. i'm open for students if anyone wants to learn rollerblading for less than 50bucks! haha actually i haven't bladed in eons, so i'm probably rusty too.
i'm in a mighty good mood today=) and not because of grades in case you were thinking weirdly. but also terribly sleepy eventhough its only 9.

Chrissie, it's alright. I look even more unphotogenic than ya. Let's go someone's house to play mahjong for the next class outing. Hehe.
Argh, we have to do a speech for the next GP lesson. Actually, I feel that 5 minutes is quite a long time to give a speech. I mean, that's the time for each person in our PW oral presentations, right?
Ah, quite late. Shall log off now.

well i still visit your class blog, as long as i noticed on my dashboard this blog is updated, then i will come n see see! :) used to be ching hui who's the residence author, seems like he has handed over to pui san haha...
haha i was shocked by the IOC decision too! ok, i admit, i never really knew much abt the IOC evaluation earlier on, the preparations the different countries and the strengths and weaknesses of each blah blah.... but i always knew that paris was a hot favourite, thanks to the extensive media coverage in singapore. haha... well, i guess, it always happens huh? hot favourite defeated by the (black) horses and the (under)dogs... at olympic games, at euro 2004 (Greeks!) etc.... nothing can be taken for granted, which makes this world so interesting by creating sweet surprises and awful shocks, tears and cheers, disappointment and jubilance, disillusions and hopes! How boring would the world be if everything is expected and predictable! :)
oh no... tt sounds crappy. :P
On a side note, i found it interesting abt the media coverage of IOC this time. The hype that surrounds this HUGE event that took place in a small country! Being the toad in my well, i never knew paris bidded 2 times before this :P but hey, now, 9 out of 10 ppl in spore probably knew the exact no. of vote london and paris got in the last voting round! haha isnt media just biased? they decide what the readers/viewers will get to know. and the media is like sheep. u only need just ONE paper to start reporting on sth in one small corner in one page which could attact a sizeable number of ppl to notice, then the demand is created, then maybe one other paper will follow, then more ppl notice, then more demand, then more papers will join in the coverage, and then they compete to give more space to the incident/event and then finally that event will become BIGGEST event of the month/year that you cannot afford to not know. haha... that's how it works for any famous present stars you can think of, no?
oh no, i've talked rubbish again. gah.
oh anyway, i'm back at rj (if u still do not know haha)! but only 2 weeks la... and now i really am true to my job title "relief teacher" -- i am really relieving a teacher's classes for the first time... haha... =P see ya ard! (sry for this long post :S)

WHY did london win! i was hoping so so so much for paris to get it. i'd be surprised if paris bids again the next time...they already lost one to beijing and now they lose again to london. bummer. i definitely wanna go for the 2012 olympic games cos the timing is quite good...about after we graduate and before we start dreary work. and its also probably gonna be ian thorpe's last olympics! paris is a much nicer place to go to...romantic atmosphere, lovely architecture, even lovelier scenery and the eiffel tower! =) and the people always come across much friendlier than the brits. which is a major point to note. although shopping is good in london, its good but expensive so you can't buy much anyway so what's the point. the video on london was real good though, and the paris one was pretty impressive too, i loved the song they played in the background. i think they wrote it specially for the bidding. boo. upset.
now i have to go do srp.

10 of us went out today since its the last day of our "holidays". me, char, jess, zer, serene, clara, kaishi, julio, yohanes, koo. so upsetting, the whole 'wake-up-early-at-6am' routine is gonna start up all over again. we ended up watching war of the worlds after much deliberation, and i think perhaps initial d would have been a better deal, but of course the guys wouldn't wanna watch a movie with "lousy racing and good eyecandy"=) we went shopping around before the show since we had about 2 hours to bum off, the hats at isetan lido are real nice! haha i like them=) we didn't really buy much, just some hairbands for me. some insufferable woman tried to cut our queue at the chicken rice place and was acting like she was boss and telling the real boss that she wanted that particular table that we were waiting for-_- in the end we had to squeeze somewhere else.
war of the worlds was alright i guess, quite true to the book, fab special effects but just like the book, it had a rather crappy ending. bacteria to the rescue! woohoo. the best part of the day was waiting for the show to start, and we had 45 minutes to wait, so we played zhong1 ji1 mi4 ma3. the glitch was that the loser had to to pose with one of the movie posters at lido. julio's pose as adrian pang with the forever fever poster was the best! but he has unsportingly deleted it, in the men's toilet, in order to keep his reputation intact=( so you guys won't get to see that.
zer and serene outside lido3

kaishi and jess

serene zer and me!

julio and yohanes. we almost got a shot of yohanes sleeping on the bench, but he got up in time=(

the babes of 3p!

the girls and the ever-so-shuai-and-cool-no-matter-what-the-newspapers-say edison chen=D

jess and me at tangs basement

here's the fun bit! the losers of zhong1 ji1 mi4 ma3 posing haha=D i am muchos lucky i never got unlucky once.
serene acting dao and the initial d poster of edison chen!

julio the godfather. i preferred julio the nightclub dancer of saturday night fever though.

char and her new boyfriend. with the poster of "mail order bride"

kaishi acting cute like the girl in the poster!

serene punching one of the fantastic four.

jess and jay chou! haha we all agree she should have just looked him in the eye when taking that shot.

clara helping char do the forfeit and holding the hand of one of the "Stealth" characters=)

ok thats it. i think this entry is gonna take up a crazy amount of space=X
